January 2025 marked a strong and impactful start for ASN, continuing our mission to support and uplift the Afghan community. Education remained a priority, with 338 students enrolled across programs, resulting in 721 educational service touches. Classes covered Dari, Pashto, Quran/Religion, and English, alongside CompTIA A+ and Security+ IT certification training to enhance workforce development. Additional programs, including Parenting Classes, Women’s Madrasa, Robotics, and Driver Education, continued to provide valuable learning opportunities. The Doctor Recertification Program also made significant progress in assisting internationally trained medical professionals in navigating the U.S. certification process.
Beyond education, ASN delivered 1,957 total service touches in January alone, spanning housing, employment, legal and immigration services, healthcare navigation, and case management. 106 unique clients received housing assistance, while employment support services helped 71 individuals secure jobs. Legal and immigration services assisted 67 clients, ensuring access to vital resources. Healthcare navigation supported 53 clients, while the Driver Education Program assisted 136 individuals in obtaining DMV services and training. Additionally, food assistance was provided to 9 families, addressing food insecurity concerns. With an ever-expanding reach, ASN remains committed to strengthening the Afghan community through culturally tailored, community-driven initiatives.
The work continues as we aim to empower and uplift the Afghan community through these meaningful programs and services!
