Afghan Support Network

Our Focus

WHAT WE DO:

We work with resettlement agencies, nonprofits, government agencies, and other organizations to ensure Afghan refugees and Afghan Americans receive the wrap-around services they need to succeed and thrive in their communities.

We have identified four focus areas that we believe best address challenges facing the community:

ISSUES
ADVOCACY

We advocate on issues facing the Afghan American community and ensure community members understand their role and responsibilities in the American democracy.

We also work to ensure Afghan Americans are engaged and connected to the larger community.

CULTURAL
NAVIGATION

We help create understanding between direct service providers and Afghan refugees receiving services.

We ensure services being provided to Afghan refugees are culturally appropriate.

We help Afghan refugees get acclimated and integrated into their new communities

IMMIGRATION
SUPPORT

We help reconnect families by connecting them to pro-bono or low-bono legal immigration service providers.

We keep the community up to date and informed on the immigration process.

We help Afghan refugees settle into their new lives and become permanent residents

SERVICE
CONNECTOR

We connect the Afghan community to the services and resources they need to succeed and thrive.

We create capacity and provide support in areas critically impacting the lives of Afghan refugees such as; employment, food access, housing, language access, mental health, and transportation.
