Naqibullah Safi’s journey from Afghanistan to Portland is a powerful story of perseverance and community support. After serving alongside U.S. forces and government institutions in Afghanistan, he faced immense challenges following the country’s collapse. Forced into hiding, he endured uncertainty until finally reaching the United States in 2024. Upon arrival, ASN became his support system, helping him settle into his new life by providing housing assistance, legal guidance, and career development opportunities. Through ASN’s employment services, Naqibullah secured a stable job, obtained his forklift certification, and built a foundation for long-term success. Grateful for the community’s support, he now looks forward to creating new opportunities and contributing to the Afghan-American community. His journey reflects ASN’s mission of empowering Afghans to rebuild and thrive in their new home.
