January 2025 marked a significant and impactful start to the year for ASN, as we continued to expand our programs and strengthen our community support services. Education remained a key focus, with 338 students enrolled across various programs, resulting in 721 educational service touches. Our classes covered essential subjects, including Dari, Pashto, Quran/Religion, and English, alongside IT Certification training in CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Security+ to enhance workforce development opportunities. Additionally, Parenting Classes for mothers, Women’s Madrasa, Robotics, and Driving Permit & Driver Education programs continued to provide valuable learning experiences. ASN’s Doctor Recertification Program also made significant progress, helping internationally trained medical professionals navigate the U.S. certification process.
Beyond education, ASN provided a broad range of essential support services under Community Engagement & Advancement to meet the diverse needs of the Afghan community. Housing Assistance remained a critical area, with 320 service touches helping 106 unique clients navigate housing support, rental assistance, and utilities aid. Employment Support saw 243 service touches, assisting 71 individuals with job placements and workforce readiness. Legal and Immigration Services supported 67 unique clients, with 223 touches, covering immigration assistance and legal guidance.
Healthcare access and case management remained vital, with 76 health navigation touches serving 53 clients, providing appointment scheduling, OHP-related support, and mental health navigation. Additionally, 240 Case Management service touches were recorded, benefiting 196 clients through life navigation, cultural adjustment support, and essential goods distribution.
ASN’s Driver Education Program also saw significant engagement, with 223 service touches assisting 136 individuals in obtaining DMV support, driver training, and permit assistance. Food insecurity relief efforts continued, with 9 families receiving food assistance, while 130 additional service touches supported individuals in various other needs.
Overall, ASN recorded 1,957 total service touches in January alone, reflecting our steadfast commitment to supporting, empowering, and uplifting the Afghan community. With an expanding reach and growing impact, ASN remains dedicated to addressing the evolving needs of Afghan families through culturally specific and community-driven initiatives.
