Building Homes, Building Community

From Kabul to Oregon: A Journey of Service and Success

Born in Kabul, Afghanistan and raised in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Ali Ghulam Sakhi moved to the United States in 2004, bringing with him resilience, global perspective, and a determination to succeed. Over the years, he has established himself as a trusted real estate professional in Oregon and Washington, guiding clients through the home buying and selling process with dedication and care.

With over eight years of professional experience, Ali has become known for his strong negotiation skills, deep market knowledge, and a personalized approach that makes every client feel supported. His achievements have been recognized nationally, earning him the prestigious Redfin Presidents Club Award for four consecutive years (2021–2025).

Connecting with the Community at Afghan Cultural Celebration

In September 2025, Ali joined the Afghan Support Network’s annual Afghan Cultural Celebration 2025 as a tabling partner. There, he connected with dozens of Afghan families and community members, offering advice, encouragement, and sharing his expertise about homeownership and real estate. His warm presence and professional insights left a strong impression, highlighting how much knowledge and opportunity can be unlocked when community members support one another.

Volunteering with ASN: Workshops at Afghan-Home

Inspired by his connection with the Afghan community at the celebration, Ali is stepping forward to volunteer with ASN. He will be hosting real estate workshops at Afghan-Home, ASN’s community hub in Beaverton, where families will be able to learn about:

  • The local housing market and real estate trends
  • Steps toward buying a home and building equity
  • Financial planning for long-term stability
  • Navigating rental vs. ownership decisions

Real estate isn’t just about transactions, It’s about trust, respect, and creating opportunities for families to thrive. When we help Afghan families achieve stability through housing, we are building stronger communities.

Looking Ahead: Dreams Beyond Real Estate

While Ali’s professional focus is real estate, his personal aspirations extend further. He hopes to grow his own family business, give back through mentorship, and inspire the next generation of Afghan-American professionals to pursue ambitious careers with confidence.

Ali’s story is not only one of personal success but also of community impact. By offering his time, skills, and mentorship, he embodies ASN’s mission to empower Afghans in Oregon and beyond to prosper, rebuild, and thrive.
