JOB SUMMARY:
The Afghan Support Network is seeking a Part-Time Housing Coordinator to join our team. This role will focus on providing essential housing support and assistance to Afghan refugees, helping them navigate the complex process of finding safe and stable housing in their new community. The Housing Coordinator will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and successful integration of our clients.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Dari or Pashto is a plus
- Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record
- Must be able to pass an extensive background investigation
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when needed
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Afghan refugees in their search for safe and affordable housing options
- Conduct housing assessments to determine clients’ needs and preferences
- Provide guidance on the rental application process, lease agreements, and tenant responsibilities
- Advocate on behalf of clients to landlords and property managers
- Connect clients with rental assistance programs, subsidies, and other housing resources
- Offer support and resources to help clients maintain stable housing
- Conduct regular check-ins with clients to assess their housing situations and address any challenges
- Maintain accurate records of housing-related interactions and client progress
- Collaborate with other ASN team members and community partners to enhance housing services
- Stay informed about local housing laws and regulations to provide accurate information to clients
- Adhere to ASN and funder policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
