At Afghan Support Network (ASN), we provide culturally responsive programs and services to empower Afghan refugees, allies, and families as they rebuild their lives in the United States. Our initiatives focus on education, employment, legal support, and community engagement to ensure a holistic approach to resettlement and self-sufficiency.
PROGRAMS
Our core programs are designed to support individuals and families across four key areas:
- Self Sufficiency & Wraparound Support – Case Management , Connection to Resources , Rent & Utility Assistance , Housing Navigation , Emergency Assistance & Support , Food Access , Cultural Boxes , Bus & TriMet Passes, and Assistance with essential needs.
- Healthcare Navigation – Health Plan Enrollments, Healthcare Navigation & Support.
- HRSN – Health Related Social Needs as HRSN Service provider through partnership with CCO’s Health Share of Oregon & PacificSource.
- Advocacy – Policies & Civic Engagement.
- Community Events & Connection – Cultural & Community Events, Community Center [Beaverton] & Community Hub [Salem], Afghan Sports Commission of Oregon, Burial – Bereavement & Grief Support.
- Afghan-Home [Beaverton Community Center] – Community Meet & Greet, Social Gatherings / Events, Game-Corner & Movies Nights.
- Driver Education Program – DMV support, permit classes, and driver training.
- Youth Program – Academic mentoring, leadership development, and extracurricular support.
- Health & Wellness Program – Mental health workshops, wellness education, and healthcare support.
- Mutual Aid Program – Community gatherings, social events, sewing & handicraft classes.
- Workshops & Sessions: Parenting Classes, Education Assistance, Digital Literacy Workshop. Including topics such as financial literacy, homeownership, tax filing, and life navigation in the U.S.
- Classes (In-person & Online): Doctor Recertification,
Islamic Studies (Kids), Women’s Madrasa, Dari & Pashto Classes (Kids), ESOL (English) Adults “Women / Men”
- Career Mentoring Program – Resume building, job coaching, and career pathway support.
- Employment Support & Job Placement
- IT Career Bootcamp – IT skills training, Security & Security+ certifications.
