Families, artists, and entrepreneurs came together in a spirit of celebration, with Afghan-owned businesses and vendors showcasing jewelry, traditional clothes, handmade crafts, and flavorful Afghan food. The performances by local youth groups and cultural ensembles captivated the audience, creating an evening filled with pride, nostalgia, and unity.

The event also featured remarks from community leaders, city representatives, and ASN’s leadership, honoring the collective journey of Afghans in Oregon—from resettlement to rebuilding and flourishing. Their words emphasized the importance of preserving cultural identity while embracing inclusion and civic engagement.

This year’s celebration once again positioned Beaverton as a hub of multicultural connection, while highlighting ASN’s continued role as Oregon’s first Afghan-led, culturally specific organization, serving as a bridge between communities. The Cultural Celebration is part of ASN’s broader effort to promote cultural preservation, community empowerment, and intergenerational belonging through events, arts, and education.
